On June 3, 2019, the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Family and Community Medicine honored this program at their 28th Annual Research Forum. This partnership between All Saints Family Care Center, Ascension St. Joseph, and the Mount Calvary Community Development Corporation was recognized for its service to the community.
A total of 36 bags of fresh vegetables were distributed through All Saints Family Care Center. The Outreach Nurse, Jenny Ovide, is pictured with a delivery of 12 bags which she delivered to patients of the Family Care Center
Sandra Olsen, director of All Saints, told of a patient who was being treated at the Family Care Center. This patient needed nourishment and had literally no food in their house. Sandra and “Nurse Jenny” were able to go to the urban farm and harvest a bag of food for this patient to take home.
